Satellite Tracking Software

The satellite tracking software that can be used with this unit is the German-made PCsat32.Developed by Germany's DK1TB, this is probably the most widely used satellite tracking software.

This software includes full rotator control and doppler correction.

BTRotator is connected via SatPC32-IF or SatPC32ISS interface software which is transfer the Azimuth and Elevation data from SatPC32 / ISS software through the Bluetooth connection.

SatPC32-IF and Sat32ISS-IF interface software

SatPC32-IF and SatPC32ISS-IF are software to connect the satellite tracking software SatPC32 and the BT Rotator. SatPC32 also has a function to connect to a BT Rotator, but this has more features and is easier to use. The two software, SatPC32-IF and SatPC32ISS-IF, are functionally identical. If the main software you are running is SatPC32, use SatPC32-IF, and if it is SatPC32ISS, use SatPC32ISS-IF.

The image left is the SatPC32-IF screen. The only difference of SatPC32-IF and SatPC32ISS-IF is  name of the software and function is identical.

The image on the left shows the SatPC32 screen. The screen is divided into upper and lower parts. The upper part receives the orbit calculation data from SatPC32 and converts it into a command signal for the BT Rotator. The signal sent from SatPC32 is displayed to the right of the line that says Sat/AZ/EL. When the satellite is not present, NO SATELLITE is displayed.

The value displayed to the right of Azimuth Elevation is the value that is actually sent as a control signal to the rotator. EL limit is the elevation limit. Even if an elevation signal above this value comes from SatPC32, data above the limit value will not be sent to the rotator. This is used when increasing the elevation further would cause some mechanical problem due to antenna installation, etc.

You can manually point it in the direction you want. When you click the Manual Mode button, it turns green. After that, input the angle of the direction you want to point and press the SET button. A control signal will be sent to the Rotator, and the Rotator will point in that direction. The COM Port # is stored internally when the Quit button is pressed, so the next time you start up the device, the same port number will be displayed.
